A Rebirth of the Divine Feminine

If you're not familiar with the masculine and feminine aspects of consciousness, you may have read this blog title and conjured up an image of a glimmering, golden headdress-clad and pregnant Beyoncé at the 2017 GRAMMYs. In reality, we all-- men, women and non-binary individuals-- are balanced by feminine and masculine energies. Society has long placed more value in the masculine, but we are seeing a much-needed shift and a rebirth of divine feminine energy.

"A complete human being is in equilibrium between the masculine and the feminine."

~Sadhguru

The feminine side of our consciousness is the intuitive side of ourselves. She is the side that receives, feels, listens and nurtures. The masculine side is the active side of ourselves. He is logical, thinking, outward, and assertive. We all have both sides, but because of society's emphasis on metrics and economics, the intangibility of our feminine side has been deprioritized.

The truth is that we must seek balance. Without feminine energy, our actions have no meaning, our words have no depth, our creative outlets have no inspiration. Look at the way business has been measured solely by the bottom line throughout the 20th century. In doing so, we created severe inequality, climate change, fossil fuel dependence and an unattainable goal of unlimited growth. By balancing emphasis on people, planet, profit, passion & purpose, business can actually be a tool for positive change, repairing what we've ruined and regenerating fragile ecosystems.

"To fully integrate the inner male and female, you need to put the female in the guiding position. This is her natural function. She is your intuition, the door to your higher intelligence."
~Shakti Gawain, Living in the Light

By allowing our Divine Feminine to lead us, we can strengthen our relationships, both in and outside of work. At work, this might mean focusing on collaborating, rather than competing. In a romantic relationship it might mean letting go of titles and just enjoying one another, here and now. Within ourselves, it might mean allowing moments to do nothing but sit, pay attention, and listen to our gut.
